Foreword
Dear Readers,
We are pleased to deliver our 99th issue to you. We make available to you 9 articles on different aspects of the Turkic world in the field of social sciences, ranging from literature to history, from current issues to cultural heritage. These valuable articles have emerged as a result of the careful evaluation of our authors, editorial board and referees. We believe that the originality of the subjects, besides the high academic level, will contribute to the impact factor of our journal.
In 2021, the bilig impact factor increased when compared to the previous year. The 2021 impact factor consists of citations made in 2020 in journals scanned in SSCI to articles published in Bilig in 2018 and 2019. Accordingly, the articles in our issues published in 2018 and 2019 reached a considerable number of audience and contributed to science by being cited. As the editorial board, we are proud to raise the level of bilig by publishing internationally cited articles. The Presidency of the Board of Trustees also contributed greatly to this success with the opportunities and freedom it provided to the editorial board via the understanding of not sacrificing the quality.
bilig’s stable and most significant priority is to publish quality articles that will make an impact in the social science. We regret to state that, though the flow of articles to the journal is getting higher, the quality of the incoming articles is decreasing. Articles with low original value, which do not exceed the quality of compilation, and even the ones that are not in the field of social science, are a source of sadness beyond causing a burden for the editorial board. At that point, we ask our authors to be more meticulous, to take a look at the journal and publication criteria before submitting an article, and to send original and qualified articles on subjects which directly involves in bilig’s field of interest.
We wish you a pleasant reading with the hope of achieving many new successes together with the author, referee, editorial board, secretariat and support team.
