Archive and Data Distribution Policy

bilig (ISSN 1301-0549, e-ISSN 2822-6348) distributes the published articles to electronic archives and makes them fully accessible under the open access principle, without requiring any action on the part of the author(s). Authors or funding organizations may upload a copy of the author’s accepted article to archiving sites. Our policy requiring permission for commercial use applies. The publisher ensures that published material is safely archived. bilig commits to keeping all its articles open access under the CC-BY-NC Creative Commons license and to storing the full-text content on archiving platforms and its own website.

Archiving Policy: LOCKSS

Warehouse Policy: Publisher’s Own Website

Articles published in the bilig are digitally archived in LOCKSS. In addition, published articles may be made available by the author in the institutional repository of the university where they work (DSpace, AVESİS, etc.), in subject-specific repositories, or in any other type of repository without an embargo period. This ensures that everyone can access this publication immediately and free of charge.

bilig permits authors to use the final published version of an article for self-archiving (on the author’s personal website or social media accounts) and/or for archiving in an institutional repository (DSpace, AVESİS, etc.) after publication.

Authors may self-archive their articles in public and/or commercial subject-based repositories. There is no embargo period; however, the published source must be cited, and a link to the journal’s homepage or the article’s DOI must be provided.

Authors and readers may download the article’s PDF file.

bilig uses the LOCKSS system to create permanent archives. Based at Stanford University Libraries, the LOCKSS offers award-winning, low-cost, open-source digital preservation tools to libraries and publishers to ensure access to permanent and authoritative digital content. The LOCKSS is a library-led digital preservation system built on the principle of “preserving multiple copies.” The LOCKSS develops and supports libraries by using open-source, end-to-end digital preservation software.
