Dear Readers,
Firstly, we congratulate your new year and hope that the year 2018 will bring peace, tranquility, happiness and fertility to all people, especially our country and the Turkish world.
In our presentation, we share some information regarding 2017 with you. 529 articles were submitted to the evaluation of our publication system throughout 2017. Currently, 34 of these articles completed the referee reports and came to the publishing stage. 413 articles are regrettably reported as insufficient. A great majority of these articles (398) were rejected in the course of the evaluation of the editorial board. Accordingly, more than half of the articles that are received by Bilig are eliminated in the stage of publishing board. In the respect of the referee reports, the number of rejected articles is 15 and this number is less than half of the number of accepted articles. These datas are the concrete indications of how rigorous our editorial board works.
The evaluation process of the 82 articles which were received in 2017 is still ongoing. Most of these articles are the uncompleted ones due to the correspondence between the author and the referee as to the amendments and changes requested by the referees on the articles. In this regard, we can express that the process of the bilig publication has almost characteristics of a school, providing a significant contribution to the promotion of the scientific level of the studies. The fact that the evaluation process lasts over one year is another indication of the rigorous work in Bilig.
From this issue, we will include the arrival date of the published articles and the acceptance date of the publication. This notification is made in accordance with the publication policy of our journal based on objectivity and transparency.
As a member of Yesevi family, Bilig Editorial Board, is working with an intend to increase the reputation and respect of our journal all over the world via publishing qualified researches and articles from all fields of Turkish science. With our belief that the bonds of brotherhood among the Turkish peoples will be strengthened as much as we approach this target, we wish that 2018 will be a year of success and we hope the first issue in the new year to be beneficial.
