Dear Readers,

We are delighted to introduce you the 82nd issue of bilig. This issue involves 13 great articles from various fields of social sciences on various topics. We hope that our new issue will be beneficial to the science community, with the belief that the works emerging with sincere and intent efforts would be certainly useful. In this prsentation, we would like to briefly inform you of the current position of our journal in SSCI. As can be seen from the graph below, the increase in the number of citations to the articles published in our journal was much higher in 2016 when compared to the years before it. Though we have only published 2 issues so far in 2017, the number of the citations shows that we will reach a similar number by the end of the year. The increase in the number of the citations will only make our SSCI ranking stronger. According to Web of Science calculations, the impact factor of our journal maintains its stability. This rate is reasonable for a journal issued four times a year with an average of 50-55 articles. However, as of our next issues, we will increase our impact factor by gradually decreasing the number of the articles. bilig is one of the 10 journals in Turkey which are scanned in the area stuties field in SSCI. It is a serious responsibility to maintain the position in SSCI and to increase their international recognition and respect as a common platform of Turkish world of social scientists. Accordingly, we will keep working altogether. Hereby, we commemorate Prof. Dr. Mumin Koksoy with mercy and gratitude, who made great efforts for our journal to come to these days and passed away in the previous months and we would like to express our thanks to everyone who contributed to bilig as an author, a journal reviewer or an editorial board member.
