bilig 74

Foreword

Dear Readers,

We are happy to present the 74th issue of bilig. This issue, too, includes valuable articles on topics within the interest range of our journal. We hope you like them.

As you know, our journal is a publication of Ahmet Yesevi University, and the owner of the journal in the name of Ahmet Yesevi University is the Head of the Board of Trustees. As of 9 May 2015 Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız took over as the Head of the Board of Trustees and hence the owner of the journal from Prof. Dr. Osman Horata, who is also a former Editor of bilig and a former member of its Editorial Board.

For the past few years bilig has become a journal that receives quite a high number of submissions. However, the space we have in the journal is limited, and some submissions are rejected by the Editorial Board or during the peer review and editing processes. This is actually a routine task for the journal, but the author whose submission has been rejected often conveys his resentment to us through a variety of means. However, we have to make a selection, and we often find ourselves in a position where we have to stand up to such criticism, reproach and resentment.

Considering the fact that the number of citation index social science publications in Turkey is limited, it is understandable that bilig receives a high number of submissions and that authors use common means of getting things done including social and personal relationships. Often the figure who stands up to such demands and criticism is the Head of the Board of Trustees. That is why we would like to thank Prof. Dr. Osman Horata for all the support he has given the journal and for the freedom he has allowed the Editorial Board throughout his term of office. Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, who has now taken over as the Head of the Board of Trustees of Ahmet Yesevi University, is a figure who is highly familiar with the workings of the university and of bilig. As members of the Editorial Board, we wish him success in his new office.

From its first issue onward, bilig has been a source of pride for the university. It will continue to be a leading publication both of Ahmet Yesevi University and of the social science research in Turkey.

The Editorial Board of bilig meets regularly every month and evaluates new submissions as well as those in the process of publication.

Our website is accessible 24/7 for authors who would like to submit their work.
